The Warren pear tree, named after Thomas O. Warren, a founding member of the North American Fruit Explorers (NAFEX), was discovered in Mississippi in 1976. This pear variety produces medium to large, long-necked, drop-shaped fruit that is typically green, sometimes with a red blush when exposed to full sun. While the size and shape of the fruit can vary, the Warren pear is highly regarded, often considered equal to the Magness pear.

Known for its sweet, spicy flavor and very juicy, buttery, silky flesh, the Warren pear has no grit, making it a delightful fresh-eating variety. The tree has a pyramidal shape and is resistant to fire blight, making it an excellent choice for gardeners. Additionally, the Warren pear is one of the best options for providing pollen to other European pear trees, aiding in their pollination. Requires 500-600 chill hours.
